The Saker Falcon is a rare passage migrant to Ladakh.

It can be spotted soaring over high altitude meadows, dry steppes and marshes & along large rivers, up to 4700 m. 

It has been listed as an Endangered Animal on the IUCN list because population trend analysis show a very rapid decline, especially in its Central Asian breeding grounds.
