Lammergeiers are also called Bearded Vultures. They are resident here in Ladakh.
Their diet is unique among vertebrates in being dominated by bones. They will carry bones up high and drop to break them open.
It can be spotted gliding steep rocky mountain slopes, high altitude plains and valley bottoms up to 5500 m.
The males and females look the same.
