The Booted Eagle, a medium-sized raptor, is a long distance migrant – its non-breeding time spent in Ladakh.
It has two distinct colour morphs – one light, one dark.
It can be spotted soaring singly in open-wooded areas, hilly semi-deserts up to 3800m.
